Let Patience Have Its Perfect Work

Updated: Sep 20, 2021

"

She has the patience of Job" is a popular phrase we often hear from people to characterize one who can tolerate long periods of waiting. However, I have often asked myself is that it? Is there more? Some will also say having patience is about waiting for an extended period of time with great anticipation. Maybe? We know for certain understanding patience is a process that has the ability to magnify your character. In life's journey you will learn to stand or fall in the midst of challenges. Will you stumble? Will you falter? And if you do , will you get up? These are probing questions we ask ourselves when we dont allow patience to be worked out in our lives.

Having to endure will stretch you and test your faith. If you are anything like me you can forget quickly that God is in charge. I have to remind myself that the Creator is sovereign; the title of supreme ruler says it all, so nothing happens without His knowledge. However, how many times have I allowed fear to creep in and occupy my mind? Before you know it,

I am reacting. Sad to say such behavior have put me on a fast track to major fails. I have witnessed myself in past times being overcome by fear and even paralyzed by it. Let patience have its perfect work! There are even moments I am unable to stay focused and rest in hope or rest in the unknown. My impatience can create a state of frenzy. But if we can admit that God had given each of us a measure of faith that will be tested, we are closer to understanding how patience operates. We can learn to grow that faith because it comes by the continous hearing of Jehovah's word. So let's us read , study and hear the Word for The scripture tells us that "knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience" James 1:3 NKJV. Sometimes I see the manifestations of His blessings and resolutions after long periods of waiting. Other times I don't and yet I continue to trust God. The bible also directs us to wait upon the Lord and be of good courage . This courage empowers us to walk in the face of fears and it fortifies us. In the end we will know that we are exercising patience because now we look forward to the waiting .
