Peace and Protection

Back Then: She fought the flow

Overwhelmed by gigantic waves of sorrow and misunderstandings

Depths and currents consumed her

She drifted far from shore

Yearning for a base

That was H E R

Treading waters that were too deep, too much to bear,

Flinging Arms wildly and speed kicking legs; FRANTIC

Sinking ship at sea with no lighthouse

Lifeless, left longing and lonely

Out of range, off grid

Misplaced, displaced ….needing some place of rest

That was H E R

Body cascading in a pool of desires and not one was for the ONE

But she remembered

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;” Isaiah 43:2

AND

Still waters run deep… just like His LOVE

But Now: She shifts her body from breast strokes to back floats.

She sees the Son clearly

There He IS, beaming brightly, NOURISHMENT to mind,

warmth to her body and soul,

She stays there

Washing her over with WORDS, healing her wounds and strengthening her bones

No longer afraid

No Longer flailing

No longer in frenzy

No longer in flight

No Longing

Just LOVING herself, as He Was and Is

She

Fixed her gaze on HIM

In the water

Right side up

Immersed in HIM

Embracing the waves that overlap and overflow

A N D

In the midst

Is where she found peace and protection.
