Write On, Right On: Five Days of Inner Writing Prompts

Every day for five days you will sit quietly for 10 to 15 minutes. You will not check your phone, your computer or watch. If you have not developed a discipline of silence 15 minutes can seem like an hour but do not fret. Let today be the day you embrace quietness and allow it to reveal your inner thoughts. Close your eyes and remove yourself from distractions. Reflect on how you have been feeling over the last 24 hours each day. At first, it may be challenging to disengage from external stimuli, but you can do it. What do we do in those times and spaces where there are no activities, movements or utterances? The short answer is we rest. We give ourselves permission to enjoy the stillness. Now take a deep breath, read the prompt for each day and respond by writing your thoughts.

DAY ONE

BELIEVE: What is the one thing that you believe about yourself that is preventing you from becoming all you are destined to become? How will you unlearn that belief?

DAY TWO

COURAGE How does or has lack of courage in a particular area of your life impacted your ability to expose and reveal your core or the essence of who you are?

DAY THREE

FAITH: Think of a time when your lack of faith led you down a path of control and manipulation. How did it turn out? Where you able to get back on track?

DAY FOUR

IMAGINE: As human beings we have the capacity and potential to be creative. Imagine yourself using your creative abilities to fulfill your purpose. What are you doing? Where are you? What does it look like?

DAY FIVE

LOVE: What areas of your life have you NOT loved wholly and completely? Explain what they are and what you are doing to embrace all of you.
